A recent report by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) highlights that the travel and tourism sector will support the creation of 9.1 crore jobs globally in the next decade, accounting for one in every three new jobs. This revelation was made during the WTTC Global Summit held in Rome.

The report, incorporating extensive global research, warns of a potential workforce shortfall of over 4.3 crore workers if demographic and structural shifts remain unaddressed. China, India, and the European Union are expected to face the highest deficits in labor availability.

The Middle East is noted as one of the fastest-growing regions, with Saudi Arabia impressively increasing inbound visitor spend. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni underlined tourism's potential to generate wealth, and new WTTC chair Manfredi Lefebvre was introduced at the summit to steer the organization forward.
