Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has called on citizens to embrace Indian-made products to bolster the nation's economy, urging attendees at a press conference in the state BJP office to consider locally-produced 'swadeshi' items as a step towards a self-reliant India.

He highlighted the transformation of India from a non-producer to an exporter of advanced products, such as PPE kits during the pandemic and defense equipment, while underscoring the country's emergence as a key player in mobile phone manufacturing and its global recognition through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

Patton further urged every household and trader to adopt 'swadeshi' measures, stating that initiatives across textiles, education, and renewable energy were paramount to India's self-reliance, and he encouraged retail outlets to proudly display their indigenous roots with signage like 'Garv se Kaho Ye Swadeshi Hai'.
