Tata-owned BigBasket has announced the completion of a self-audit aimed at ensuring its quick commerce platform adheres to the Central Consumer Protection Authority's guidelines to eliminate dark patterns. The company confirmed this in a statement released on Monday.

Dark patterns, which can range from false urgency alerts to hidden costs, have been identified by the CCPA as practices that mislead consumers. In response, the CCPA directed e-commerce platforms to conduct self-audits by June, a target BigBasket has met.

Rohit Subramanian, Legal Counsel at BigBasket, emphasized the company's commitment to fairness and transparency. 'This audit is a critical step in reinforcing consumer trust and contributing to a transparent digital economy,' he said. BigBasket currently offers rapid delivery of a vast range of products through its network.
