Delhi's Electric Buses to Link Intra-State Urban Network

The Delhi government is planning to extend its electric bus fleet beyond city limits, targeting surrounding states such as Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The move seeks to promote sustainable transport while providing commuters with affordable travel options.

Delhi Transport Corporation has identified 17 inter-state routes, including Delhi-Rishikesh and Delhi-Shimla, with services expected to commence by next year. The initiative prioritizes the availability of charging infrastructure along these corridors.

Delhi's Transport Minister, Pankaj Singh, highlighted plans for phased implementation, focusing on optimizing the state's electric mobility network and reducing reliance on diesel buses.
