Green Jobs and Entrepreneurship: Pioneers of India's Sustainable Future

Speaking at a conference, he emphasized the importance of renewable energy and technologies like electric mobility, asserting that they will generate employment and accelerate India’s low-carbon growth.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh underscored the transformative potential of 'green jobs' and entrepreneurship as pivotal elements driving the nation's economy forward. During the National Conference on 'Environmental Sustainability in the 21st Century' at Jamia Millia Islamia, Singh noted that renewable sectors such as electric mobility and green fuels will substantiate large-scale employment for the youth.
He detailed how initiatives, like the National Green Hydrogen Mission with a substantial investment of over Rs 19,000 crore, are designed to propel industrial transformation towards ecological sustainability. Singh emphasized India's leading role in the global green transition, buoyed by emerging technologies aiding decarbonization in key industries such as steel and cement.
He also highlighted the expanding landscape of green jobs across solar manufacturing, battery production, and biofuels. Singh pointed to the potential of the circular economy in spawning entrepreneurship while ocean energy emerges to augment solar and wind. On the energy front, Singh noted India's advancements in nuclear capacity and private sector involvement backed by a significant Research and Development fund aimed at fostering innovation.
