The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) is setting its sights on another record-breaking year, buoyed by its highest-ever cargo throughput of 50 million tonnes achieved in FY26. This impressive milestone, marking an 8% year-on-year growth, was announced by Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh during a business meeting with the Export-Import (EXIM) trade community in Mysuru on Sunday. Singh attributed this achievement to the robust collaboration across the port ecosystem, thanking stakeholders from various sectors, including the state officials and federal agencies, for their unwavering support.

The gathering of trade and logistics stakeholders aimed to review the port's progress and devise a future roadmap. Singh seized this opportunity to share NMPA's vision and gather valuable insights from users, highlighting the strategic alignment with Viksit Bharat 2047 and Maritime India Vision 2030. Singh also emphasized ongoing efforts towards capacity enhancement and technological advancements, reiterating the port's commitment to modernization and growth, in line with national ambitions.

Confident in the port's trajectory, Singh predicted setting a new benchmark for cargo throughput this year. He encouraged continuous partnership and pledged that stakeholder feedback would inform NMPA's future strategies. Singh assured that infrastructure improvements are underway to benefit users and bolster India's global maritime competitiveness, promising that the results will manifest imminently.
