In an effort to mitigate potential shortages amidst geopolitical unrest, India successfully delivered over 51.8 lakh domestic LPG cylinders nationwide on Saturday, April 25, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The government has prioritized domestic LPG supplies, reporting zero distributorship dry-outs.

Amidst heightened online bookings, now at 98%, the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system is in place, enhancing security by verifying deliveries through codes sent to registered mobile numbers. This update forms part of a wider strategy to maintain energy supply amid geopolitical challenges, including disruptions at the Strait of Hormuz.

The Ministry has reassured the public of ample LPG, petrol, and diesel supplies, urging citizens to steer clear of panic buying. Emphasizing the effectiveness of digital booking platforms, it stated that 100% domestic LPG and CNG deliveries are being maintained. Priority for commercial LPG goes to critical sectors like healthcare and education. During this period, states are encouraged to increase PNG connections and ensure energy conservation.
