The Sansad Jan Udhyam Sports & Cultural Mahotsav 2026 wrapped up triumphantly in Gaya, Bihar, under the patronage of Hon'ble Member of Parliament Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi. This six-day extravaganza, held from April 20 to April 25, 2026, created an impactful amalgamation of sports, culture, and entrepreneurial endeavor.
A defining feature of the Mahotsav was its inclusivity, demonstrated by a no-participation-fee policy that enabled thousands from underprivileged sections to compete, echoing a commitment to equal opportunity. Over 10,000 enthusiastic individuals participated, with approximately 3,000 shortlisted across 13 sports disciplines, highlighting the region's hidden athletic prowess.
In a significant move toward enhancing sports infrastructure, Shri Manjhi announced that 20,000 sports kits would be distributed to deserving young talents. This gesture aims to fortify grassroots sports participation and ensure equitable access to resources. The Mahotsav also hosted an MSME meet, empowering local entrepreneurs and aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision through economic empowerment.
The event's success is attributed to its sponsors, notably SBI, and the significant contributions from NSIC and other corporate partners through CSR initiatives. This collective support, alongside dedicated volunteers, epitomized a collaborative spirit towards youth empowerment, ultimately elevating the Mahotsav into a revered regional milestone.
Plans for an even grander sports event in December-January highlight a continuous quest to nurture emerging talent and promote a robust sports culture. The Sansad Jan Udhyam Mahotsav stands as an emblem of empowering youth through spirited participation and community development.
