The accident occurred near Trasi Beach in Byndoor taluk, they said. According to police, the accident occurred when the bus, travelling from Murudeshwar towards Udupi, collided with the tanker parked by the roadside. Three people were killed, and several passengers sustained injuries in the impact, some of them seriously, the Byndoor traffic police said, adding that the bus was carrying around 47 passengers. Preliminary information suggests the passengers were B.Com students from a college in Shivamogga district on a coastal tour, they said. The injured have been shifted to a private hospital in Kundapur. Police have visited the spot, and further investigation is underway, the Byndoor traffic police said.
