Addressing a gathering during the train's inaugural run at the Jammu railway station, Abdullah highlighted the importance of this connectivity in facilitating the just-in-time transportation of goods such as cement and vehicles. The connectivity helps in the transport of essential items like Maruti cars to Srinagar, and perishable goods like fruits from Kashmir.
Furthermore, Abdullah appealed for the establishment of an inland port within Jammu and Kashmir to expedite customs procedures for exports. He urged ministers and parliamentarians present to advocate for this project, emphasizing its critical economic implications for the region's future development.
