Karnataka Hoteliers Demand GST Reduction on LPG to Combat Rising Costs

The Karnataka State Hotels Association has called for an immediate reduction in GST on 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders from 18% to 5% due to unprecedented price hikes.

The association's president, G K Shetty, attributed the cost surge to global energy crises, impacting hotel operations significantly. The price of commercial LPG rose by a staggering Rs 993 recently, reaching over Rs 3,100.

Hoteliers warn that without tax relief, rising costs will be transferred to consumers, impacting demand. The association urges government intervention to support the struggling hospitality sector and ensure its economic sustainability.
