Vaiko Slams Gov't Over Commercial LPG Price Hike

In a vehement rebuke against the Union government's decision, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko criticized the sharp increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices. Speaking on Saturday, Vaiko demanded a prompt rollback of the price hike initiated by the BJP government.
According to Vaiko, the price of a 19 kg cooking gas cylinder has surged by Rs 993, now retailing at Rs 3,239. The hike is attributed to rising crude oil prices on the international market, exacerbated by tensions between the US and Iran.
The MDMK leader highlighted the severe repercussions for restaurants already facing disruptions in their gas supply, leading to escalating food costs. Vaiko urged immediate action from the Union government to alleviate the impact on the public.
