Born on September 13, 1937, in Manheru village, Haryana, Gupta moved to Kolkata in 1962. He started manufacturing and selling hosiery products, tailored specifically to meet customer requirements. Through strategic market insight, he developed manufacturing facilities and retail networks in overlooked areas, positioning Dollar Industries for success.
Established in 1972, Dollar Industries grew under Gupta's leadership to become one of India's premier hosiery brands, with revenues exceeding Rs 1,700 crore. Honored with prestigious awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the West Bengal Hosiery Association, Gupta leaves behind a lasting legacy in India's apparel industry.
