Tragic Collision Claims Four Lives in Maharashtra's Thane

In a tragic incident, a state transport bus collided with an SUV in Maharashtra's Thane district, leading to the death of four individuals, police reported on Wednesday.
The devastating event took place around 11 am on Tuesday at Tokawde in Murbad taluka. The SUV, with eight occupants including two minors, faced the brunt of the collision with the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus. Four occupants of the SUV, including the owner and driver, lost their lives on the spot. The remaining four sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care at various hospitals, according to Tokawde police station inspector Shitalkumar Naik.
An FIR has been filed against the MSRTC bus driver under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. The deceased have been identified as Avinash Kakade, Abhishek Mote, Nita Dhure, and Meena Madke, residents of Nevasa. This marks the second major accident on the route within a month, with a previous collision on April 13 claiming 11 lives. The investigation is still ongoing.
