The Railway Board has expressed concerns about the slow pace of transferring employees to the South Coast Railway Zone and the Rayagada Division under the East Coast Zone. The delays could result in manpower shortages, jeopardizing the functioning of these new railway units, set to start operations on June 1, 2026.
A letter titled 'Operationalisation of South Coast Railway (SCoR) and Rayagada Division' was sent to General Managers across all railway zones. It stressed the need for swift employee releases and compliance reports to ensure smooth operations.
The Board stressed the urgency of resolving over 600 pending employee transfer decisions. It urged General Managers to clear all pending NOC requests by May 15, 2026, and facilitate employee moves by the end of that month.
