Meghalaya's Growth: Leading Northeast's Infrastructure Revolution

The North East India Infrastructure Summit is poised to shine a spotlight on Meghalaya as it showcases remarkable economic accomplishments. Scheduled for June 11 and 12, the summit will convene policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to deliberate on connectivity and investment prospects in the region.

Meghalaya's Chief Minister Conrad Sangma highlighted the state's economic momentum, noting a doubling of the economy over five years with capital investment surging fourfold since 2018. Acknowledging the state as one of India's fastest-growing economies, Sangma emphasized the importance of sustaining this growth to bolster investor confidence.

Promoting a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, Sangma announced significant incentives under the Meghalaya Industrial Promotion Policy. The expanding IT sector is also a focal point, with the inaugural IT park at capacity and the upcoming second park attracting national and global interest. Meanwhile, Sanjay Jaju from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region lauded Meghalaya's development trajectory, attributing its success to robust regional support.
