Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, unveiled India's ambitious export target of $2 trillion within the next five years. Speaking at a national conclave in New Delhi, Goyal emphasized the role of exports in achieving 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', or a self-reliant India, as a paramount national mission.

Addressing trade leaders at the event, Goyal expressed confidence that the Bharat Vyapar Mahotsav, an upcoming Swadeshi trade fair at Bharat Mandapam, would serve as a pivotal platform to boost indigenous products and expand India's presence internationally. The fair aims to enhance Indian goods' global competitiveness through improved quality, marketing, and branding.

Goyal highlighted significant progress, noting that exports have already climbed to $863 billion this year. The minister stressed the government's commitment to securing free trade agreements with 38 nations, primarily developed economies, to provide Indian exporters with advantageous access. Additionally, he advocated for women's participation in trade and a step towards a cashless economy by promoting digital payments at the event.
