Railway Board officials have addressed a controversy regarding an image of a bullet train displayed at Rail Bhawan. The image, drawing significant attention, was misinterpreted by some as the actual design of India's first bullet train, anticipated for launch in August 2027.
Some media outlets mistakenly reported the image as the initial glimpse of the proposed bullet train. However, Railway officials have clarified that the image is purely representational and not the official design of the train.
Launched in 2016, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor aims to operate at speeds of 320 kmph. The first phase is expected to be completed by August 2027, with the train currently under production at Bengaluru's BEML.
