Bharat Taxi to start services in Jaipur next month
The Jaipur launch is proposed in the first week of June.According to the minister, Bharat Taxi is a unique initiative in which the owners are not outside companies or individuals, but the drivers themselves.
The country's first cooperative model-based cab service, Bharat Taxi, is likely to be launched in Jaipur next month.
The proposed service aims to provide affordable and safe transport options to commuters.
A 'Bharat Taxi Samvad' programme was organised here during the day where Rajasthan Minister of State for Cooperation Gautam Kumar Dak interacted with drivers associated with the initiative.
Dak said the cooperative-based taxi service would not only provide economical and secure transportation to the public but also strengthen the concept of ''prosperity through cooperation'' by improving the economic condition of drivers.
He said that after Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai and Chandigarh, the Bharat Taxi service is now set to be launched in Jaipur and other cities. The Jaipur launch is proposed in the first week of June.
According to the minister, Bharat Taxi is a unique initiative in which the owners are not outside companies or individuals, but the drivers themselves. He said the service is based on four core principles: ownership, security cover, dignity and equal distribution of profits.
Dak said no driver's account would be suspended without a hearing and that the service would free drivers from hidden charges often imposed by private aggregators.
''The initiative would help curb arbitrary practices by private companies by providing drivers with an alternative platform,'' he said.
The minister also urged drivers to encourage more people to join the cooperative taxi service by spreading awareness about its benefits.
According to an official statement, drivers present at the event shared their experiences and expressed eagerness for the launch of Bharat Taxi in Jaipur.
