A devastating bus accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway claimed the lives of six people, including a police sub-inspector, and left 21 others critically injured early Tuesday in Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh. The accident took place at approximately 5.15 am near Nibha Kheda village when the double-decker AC bus, en route from Delhi to Bihar, lost control and overturned.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was speeding and collided with the divider, overturning in the process. Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have dozed off at the wheel. Following the accident, police and rescue personnel quickly arrived on the scene, with immediate relief and rescue operations commencing.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, offering condolences to the bereaved families and urging local officials to ensure prompt rescue operations and proper medical treatment for the injured. He also instructed authorities to provide adequate compensation to the victims and their families.
