An early morning blaze engulfed a BEST bus at the Santacruz depot as it was being refuelled on Wednesday following repairs for a faulty clutch. Officials confirmed that no one was injured.

This incident marks the third such event this week, following the previous fires at Pratiksha Nagar depot. The fire, which broke out around 2:45 AM due to a short circuit in the driver's cabin, was initially tackled by Mateshwari staff using fire extinguishers before being fully extinguished by the fire brigade at 3:10 AM. BEST operates a vast fleet aiding daily commutes for millions in Mumbai.
