SAIL Boosts Digital Education with Smart Classrooms Initiative
SAIL partners with EdCIL to introduce Smart Digital Classrooms in schools near its operations, aiming to enhance educational access as part of its CSR efforts. The initiative aligns with NEP 2020 and UN SDG-4, focusing on inclusive, quality education through digital infrastructure.
In a significant move to enhance digital education, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has entered into a partnership with EdCIL (India) Limited by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration aims to introduce Smart Digital Classrooms in schools located around SAIL's operational areas as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The Ministry of Steel revealed that the agreement, signed on May 26, supports technology-enabled learning for communities near SAIL's plants. This initiative strongly aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal-4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
The signing ceremony, attended by senior officials from both SAIL and EdCIL, was led by K K Singh, Director of Personnel at SAIL. This project is an effort to bolster SAIL's CSR initiatives by enhancing digital learning opportunities and infrastructure in schools within the vicinity of its operational units.
