Maharashtra: A Powerhouse of Innovation and Industrial Growth

Maharashtra is cementing its position as a hub for innovation and enterprise, significantly contributing 14 percent to India's GDP and around 25 percent of the nation's industrial output. Key cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur are leading the charge in sectors like fintech, deep-tech, and manufacturing.

During the CII-HBNI Research Scholars' Summit in Mumbai, Principal Secretary of Maharashtra's Industries Department, P Anbalagan, highlighted the state's expanding innovation ecosystem. He underscored its role in boosting research-led entrepreneurship, job creation, and enhancing global competitiveness, enabled by robust infrastructure and futuristic policies.

The summit, which gathered government, industry, and academic leaders, focused on strengthening innovation-driven growth through collaboration. It emphasized the need for mentorship and funding for research scholars, aiming to bridge the gap between educational institutions and industry for developing globally competitive enterprises.
