BRICS Nations Unite to Empower MSMEs through Technology Access

India, as the Chair of BRICS in 2026, convened the second SME Working Group meeting under the BRICS Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR) on May 26. This initiative, led by the Ministry of MSME, centered on improving technology access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across BRICS nations.
The meeting, with the theme "Enhancing Access to Technology for MSMEs," emphasized innovation, technology commercialization, and workforce readiness. Discussions highlighted the importance of digital inclusion and fortifying innovation ecosystems to bridge technology gaps faced by MSMEs, thereby enhancing their role in economic growth and integrating into global value chains.
Officials noted active participation from BRICS countries, fostering a platform for sharing best practices and experiences in MSME development. The discussions underscored MSMEs' crucial role in economic progress, employment generation, and inclusive growth, while stressing the need for deeper BRICS collaboration in technology access and skill development.
