Chile's Codelco, recognized as one of the largest copper producers globally, is poised to appoint Jorge Gomez as its new Chief Executive Officer, according to two individuals familiar with the decision speaking to Reuters.
Gomez previously served as the CEO of the Collahuasi copper mine, another significant player in the global copper industry, since 2012. His leadership at Collahuasi has been noted for significant strides in production and operations.
He is expected to replace current CEO Ruben Alvarado, steering Codelco through critical phases of industrial and market challenges, solidifying its standing in the global market.
