The Directorate of Education has issued a directive instructing school heads to cease the employment of guest teachers during the upcoming summer vacation from May 11 to June 30. This measure is a part of the standard summer break protocol.
The circular clarifies that guest teachers in government and associated schools will not be required to work during the summer holidays. However, they may be engaged for crucial school-related activities, such as admissions and examinations.
If necessary, guest teachers can be appointed for activities or remedial classes over the summer, provided they are compensated according to existing pay regulations. All appointments must receive prior approval from the district's deputy director of education.
