Symbiosis Skills and Professional University in Pune has inaugurated a groundbreaking B.Tech in Defence Technology program, aimed at aligning with India's Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat visions. This unique four-year program will commence in the academic year 2025-26.
The curriculum is crafted by leading defence industry experts, offering 70% practical training. The focus is to provide students with hands-on experience, equipping them for real-world challenges in the defence sector. To enhance practical learning, a 'Smart Centre of Excellence – Manufacturing Lab' has been established on campus.
Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor of SSPU, emphasized the program's relevance amid growing global and national defence needs. The program promises substantial internship opportunities and supports India's ambitions of becoming a significant global exporter of defence technology.
