In a bid to bridge the digital divide, Tripura's Tribal Welfare Department has introduced smart classes in 33 hostels across the state. This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide digital education to students from remote areas, ensuring they have access to quality learning resources.

Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma inaugurated the smart class facilities on Sunday, coinciding with the opening of the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan. Following the launch, students from all 33 government-run hostels actively engaged with the program using newly developed digital infrastructure.

The project, expected to benefit around 7,000 students in its first phase, offers interactive online classes, recorded lectures, and study materials in multiple languages. Additionally, motivational and mental health counseling sessions are available to support students holistically.
