The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swansea University, Wales, to intensify research collaborations in advanced manufacturing and materials engineering.

Professor Surjya K Pal, spearheading the initiative, will travel to Swansea University in July 2025 to engage in lectures and strategic discussions with various department faculty members about the future of this partnership.

The move, endorsed by Tata Steel UK, represents a significant step in research synergy and knowledge exchange, aiming to foster long-term collaborative projects that leverage the combined expertise of the two academic powerhouses.
