Inebriated Teacher Suspended; Probe Launched

A teacher in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district faced suspension after attending school under the influence and displaying misconduct with the staff. The occurrence led to action from the authorities as a video capturing the incident went viral, an official statement said on Wednesday.

The incident took place at a government primary school in Singhana village, approximately 50 km from the district headquarters. The teacher reportedly misbehaved with laborers and school staff upon arriving in an inebriated state on June 23, sources mentioned.

Following the video's spread on social media, the district administration has tasked a joint team with investigating the event. The teacher remains suspended as a departmental inquiry unfolds to decide further punitive measures, according to Narottam Varkade, assistant commissioner of the tribal education department.
