The Madras High Court firmly rejected an appeal by medical aspirants who sought a re-examination of the NEET test. The appellants claimed power outages at four Chennai centers disrupted their performance. However, the court emphasized the test's integrity, stating it affected over two million students.
Justice J Nisha Banu and Justice M Jothiraman led the Division bench in dismissing the appeal. The judges noted that extensive checks confirmed the test's integrity, involving supervisors, invigilators, and independent observers. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted a thorough evaluation, finding no significant issues affecting candidate performance.
Statistical analysis further confirmed no material impact from the alleged outages. Citing the importance of maintaining education exam standards, the court deemed a re-exam unwarranted, stating it would disrupt many candidates. The court held the appeal lacked merit and consequently dismissed it.
