In a significant appointment for the academic sector, Navin Chandra Lohni has been named the vice chancellor of Uttarakhand Open University, located in Haldwani. The decision, authorized by Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (retd), was made public on Wednesday.
Lohni, a prominent academic figure from Uttarakhand's Bageshwar district, serves as the senior professor and Head of the Department of Hindi at Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut, adding substantial experience to his new role.
With over 35 years in the education sector, Lohni begins his three-year tenure at the helm of Uttarakhand Open University, promising to bring his wealth of knowledge and leadership skills to the institution.
