In a move to ensure student safety, Kerala's Education Minister V Sivankutty announced steps to expedite the demolition of hazardous old school buildings following a partial roof collapse at a school in Alappuzha district.
Minister Sivankutty revealed that despite new buildings ready for use, old structures remain due to exorbitant demolition fees imposed by local bodies. He stressed the need for swift action to prevent any more incidents.
Highlighting the critical nature of the issue, Minister Sivankutty called on contractors, local bodies, and the public to collaborate in eliminating these old structures to avert potential disasters.
