Two young siblings tragically lost their lives in Budaun on Monday when an unknown vehicle collided with their bicycles en route to Nahar Singh Inter College. A third student, also on a bicycle, suffered critical injuries. The accident, occurring near Silhari village at 7.30 am, has prompted serious inquiries by authorities.
District Magistrate Avneesh Rai has announced an investigation amid revelations that several schools remained open despite closure orders, issued due to the Kanwar Yatra-related traffic diversions. "Strict action will be taken against the defiant schools," Rai stated.
Following the incident, District Basic Education Officer Virendra Singh highlighted that a deeper probe into the school's recognition status would be pursued. Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent KK Saroj confirmed that the legal proceedings, including post-mortem examinations, are underway.
