Students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya staged a protest on Monday, highlighting substandard living conditions and lacking essential amenities within their school. The students, determined for action, exited their campus and occupied the Mathura-Bareilly Road, demanding to speak with the district magistrate.
Complaints from the students included insufficient food quality, ineffective ventilation in hostels, and a lack of proper medical care. They reported that outdated hostel fans and unreliable electricity leave them sleepless, further exacerbated by early morning physical training routines. Medical complaints were reportedly dismissed with basic treatment, such as paracetamol for illnesses.
Principal Dr. Bhagwan Singh rejected these claims, assuring that processes and maintenance are in place. However, the students accuse the administration of mismanagement and deception, revealing disparities in hostel conditions during official inspections. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dharmendra Singh acknowledged students' grievances, although the standoff continues as they await the district magistrate's intervention.
