This status, granted through a university letter on Monday, positions Behala College as the sole non-religious, non-minority, state-aided autonomous institution in West Bengal, according to a college representative.
As part of its new autonomy, Behala College plans to introduce postgraduate courses in disciplines such as English, cybersecurity, and data science, in addition to its existing programs. Founded in 1963 and boasting an A++ NAAC rating, the college continues to enhance its educational impact.
