Haryana is spearheading an ambitious plan to transform both its educational landscape and energy footprint. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state has kickstarted an initiative to enhance digital learning and expand solar energy use.
The government has distributed five lakh tablets to students in addition to equipping nearly 40,000 classrooms with digital boards. It has also rolled out 1,485 LED TVs across state schools as part of the Smart Class Expansion Programme. Organized by the Sampark Foundation and the Haryana Education Department, the program aims to digitalize the learning environment.
In the realm of renewable energy, Saini announced a bold plan to install solar panels on one lakh homes through the Pradhan Mantri Muft Bijli Yojana. The government would absorb the cost for income-earners below Rs 1.80 lakh annually. In a bid to offer comprehensive support, a remarkable Rs 1,334 crore has also been transferred to farmers' accounts for crop damage caused by recent rains.
