On Thursday, President Droupadi Murmu graced the inaugural convocation of AIIMS-Deoghar, held in the renowned temple city. The event marked a significant milestone as the institution celebrated the graduation of its pioneering MBBS batch admitted in 2019.

Key attendees included Governor Santosh Gangwar, MP Nishikant Dubey, and Minister Dipika Pandey Singh, underscoring the ceremony's importance. The institute's foundation was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 25, 2018, with a projected investment of Rs 1,103 crore.

In July 2022, PM Modi furthered the institute's development by inaugurating the inpatient department and operation theatre. Following the convocation at AIIMS-Deoghar, President Murmu is set to attend IIT Dhanbad's 45th convocation ceremony, enhancing her two-day visit to Jharkhand.
