Delhi University Embraces Full FYUP Model in New Academic Year
Delhi University kicked off its academic session, welcoming both freshers and those entering the fourth year under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP). Delhi University inaugurated its new academic session on Friday, marking a pivotal moment as it fully implements the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP). This year, the university welcomed a new batch of first-year students, alongside those advancing to the newly introduced fourth year.
In an effort to guide freshers, orientation programs were organized across various colleges. Among students eligible for the fourth year, over 55% opted to continue. Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh expressed satisfaction with the enrollment figures, stating 31,004 of approximately 71,000 eligible students decided not to pursue the fourth year under FYUP.
Addressing the media, VC Singh reassured students of the university's comprehensive preparations for the new academic year. With 71,624 undergraduate seats available across 79 programs, DU is set to accommodate a diverse student body, ensuring a smooth transition under the new program structure.
