In a bold demonstration against the controversial proposed legislation, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) protested inside the Delhi Assembly on Monday. They opposed a bill that aims to regulate school fee hikes, labeling it a 'sham' designed to benefit private school owners.

The bill, officially known as the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025, was introduced during the first day of the Monsoon session. AAP members, led by Leader of Opposition Atishi, expressed discontent, claiming the bill lacks transparency and instead facilitates unchecked fee hikes by private institutions.

Atishi, the former chief minister of Delhi, accused the BJP-led government of prioritizing private school interests over those of parents. She demanded that the bill be sent to a select committee for wider consultation and called for a freeze on school fees until the legislation is reconsidered. AAP members emphasize their commitment to protecting the interests of parents and children in Delhi.
