The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to compile a monograph titled 'Bharatiya Ganit Parampara' to showcase India's rich contributions to mathematics, as officials revealed.
Spanning 150-175 pages, this authoritative document will highlight significant mathematical discoveries from ancient to modern times in India. The initiative, which has been approved by the board's governing body, aims to align with the National Education Policy's focus on integrating India's traditional knowledge into the curriculum.
In addition to featuring key figures, texts like the Sulba Sutras and Aryabhatiya, and the Kerala School of Mathematics, it will explore applications in fields such as astronomy and architecture. Original Sanskrit shlokas, biographical notes, timelines, and illustrated examples will enhance learner engagement, with guidance from an expert advisory committee.
