Lucky Escape: School Van Accident in Malamukal

In a fortunate turn of events, thirty-two school children narrowly avoided disaster on Monday when the van they were traveling in fell into a pit in Malamukal. The children sustained only minor injuries, according to police reports.

The incident occurred at the entrance of an unaided school as the van driver was maneuvering to drop off the students. An eyewitness reported that the vehicle suddenly went out of control before falling into the pit.

General Education Minister V Sivankutty, who visited the hospital where the children received treatment, assured the public that all students are stable and pledged to implement measures to prevent similar events in the future.
