The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) is considering the establishment of a Mizoram Entrepreneurship Development Institute (MEDI) in collaboration with the state government. Director General Sunil Shukla held discussions with Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma to evaluate the proposal's feasibility.
Shukla expressed EDII's readiness to fund the establishment using CSR and other central scheme resources, conditional on the provision of suitable land by the state. The institute aims to offer entrepreneurship training, startup support, and incubation services over the next five years.
Responding to the proposal, Chief Minister Lalduhoma assured that a coordination committee would be formed to facilitate the process, given the multiple departments involved in the venture. Established in 1983, EDII has successfully instituted similar centers across various states with its main office in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
