Shubhanshu Shukla, an Indian Air Force officer and the first Indian to reach the International Space Station, has been named the brand ambassador of 'Viksit Bharat Buildathon'. This large-scale school hackathon is set to involve over one crore students, promoting innovation and creative thinking nationwide, education officials announced.

The Buildathon, recognized as India's largest school hackathon, will engage students from classes 6-12 across 1.5 lakh schools. Participants will focus on ideating and developing prototypes under four themes of national significance. Organized by the Ministry of Education and the Atal Innovation Mission, the event aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of encouraging scientific awareness among young learners.

Launched on September 23, the Buildathon accepts registrations until October 6, with the live event scheduled for October 13. Shukla, who also participated in the Axiom-4 mission supported by ISRO and NASA, discussed the Buildathon's objectives with School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar. The initiative aims to prepare students as future contributors to India's growth.
