TISS Celebrates 85th Convocation: A Step Toward Innovative Education

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) marked a significant milestone with its 85th Annual Convocation, awarding degrees to 1,080 students and scholars. Among them, 97 were research scholars receiving Doctor of Philosophy degrees, one earned a Master of Philosophy, and 982 students were awarded Master's, B.Ed., M. Ed, and Dual Degrees.
Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of TISS, lauded the academic accomplishments spread across various disciplines, including social sciences, public policy, and development studies. He reiterated the institute's commitment to the National Education Policy (NEP), focusing on innovation in teaching, research, and fieldwork.
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, the chief guest, extended his congratulations to the graduates. He stressed the importance of applying knowledge for the betterment of society, aligning with the mission to achieve 'Viksit Bharat,' or a developed India.
