Beyond Employment: Education as a Catalyst for Social Change

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized that education must transcend its traditional role of job training, advancing as a force for social responsibility, inclusivity, and character development.

Speaking at a government college's annual day, Birla urged youth to align with a national vision and actively engage in democracy, noting that true progress reaches the very marginalized in society. He praised the National Education Policy 2020 for promoting critical thinking and academic flexibility, essential for building competent, morally sound citizens.

The speaker highlighted teachers' pivotal societal role, asserting they mold not just knowledgeable, but responsible and nation-focused individuals. Addressing a private school, Birla also stressed education's fundamental place in nation-building, encouraging students to dream big and work tirelessly towards 'Viksit Bharat 2047.'
