In a proactive measure to address rising temperatures, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi declared early summer vacations for schools starting April 27. The decision comes following advice from the School and Mass Education Department due to ongoing heat wave conditions.

Despite the unseasonal break, the state government assured that examinations and necessary official operations would not be disrupted, maintaining their original schedules. The standard vacation period was initially set from May 6 to June 17.

School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond noted the adjustment accounts for the extreme weather, emphasizing the safety and well-being of students and staff.
