Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Wednesday termed the BJP the ''most fake party'' that is always trying to ''break'' other parties and misusing the central agencies. Sisodia, the AAP in-charge of Punjab, was speaking to reporters after chairing a meeting of party MLAs, block observers and members in Jalandhar. Asked if some of the AAP MLAs in Punjab were in touch with the saffron camp, Sisodia said, ''The BJP is the most fake party. It is full of 'gaddars' (traitors) from other parties. It only knows how to break other outfits and the country, and misuse the ED and CBI.'' ''Has the BJP ever opened a school or a hospital? Has it ensured jobs transparently?'' Sisodia asked. His remarks followed after the AAP suffered a big jolt last Friday when seven of its 10 Rajya Sabha members – Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, Rajendra Gupta, Vikram Sahni and Swati Maliwal – quit and merged with the BJP, alleging that the party had strayed from its core principles, values and morals. Incidentally, six of the seven MPs who quit were Rajya Sabha MPs from Punjab. About the meeting with the block observers, Sisodia said the AAP has a strong grassroots structure. ''The AAP has appointed observers for every 15 villages or wards across Punjab. They interact with the residents and serve as a crucial link between the people, the party and the government,'' Sisodia said. Explaining the review process, he said that meetings with observers are held every three to four months, and Wednesday's meeting reviewed the work done in the past four months. ''At the last meeting in February, the observers were assigned specific tasks, including outreach at the village and ward level and engagement with organisational members. They successfully conducted one-to-one meetings with nearly 2.5 lakh volunteers. ''Many observers spent one or two days in villages to connect with the workers and understand the local issues. Today's meeting reviewed this exercise and discussed the future strategy,'' Sisodia said. The primary responsibility of the observers is to understand people's concerns, bring them before the party and the government, and ensure that grassroots workers remain connected with governance, he said. ''The AAP's strength lies in the visions of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, combined with the dedication of workers at the village level,'' Sisodia said. To a question, Sisodia said the AAP workers in Punjab are motivated by the government's performance. ''They draw motivation from the visible improvements in education, healthcare, employment, roads and farmers' welfare. The work done by the AAP in these sectors over the last four years is more than what the previous governments could achieve in 75 years,'' he claimed.
