Mumbai (05-05-2026): The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell, under the 2015 Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions Act, is transforming professional education access. A record 18.12 lakh students participated in 2026, marking a 28% growth from 2025, showcasing the increase in demand and accessibility for students statewide.
Key to this transformation is the adoption of student-centric, technology-driven examination approaches. Initiatives such as expanding Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and establishing State CET Cell Extension Centers across 36 districts promote inclusivity and equitable educational opportunities, especially for rural populations. GIS-based infrastructure mapping further optimizes resource allocation in underserved regions.
Looking ahead to 2030, the CET Cell aims for 1.8 million unique candidates annually, reinforcing Maharashtra's leadership in tech-enabled education. Officials highlight the state's commitment to transparent, accessible, and future-ready admissions that enhance the educational landscape, ensuring no student is left behind due to geographical or socio-economic barriers.
