Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta called on students to look beyond individual achievements and focus on nation-building at the Sardar Patel University's convocation in Mandi. Highlighting the importance of combining knowledge with innovation and ethics, he stressed the role of youth in initiatives like 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Digital India'.
The ceremony honored 575 graduates, including 40 who received gold medals for academic excellence. Gupta praised the installation of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue on the campus as a symbol of national unity. He urged students to work for weaker societal sections, avoid drugs, and protect the environment and cultural heritage.
Addressing the Himachal Dental College, Gupta discussed the transformative impact of technology in dentistry and inaugurated a dental van for rural healthcare. Acknowledging the college's community outreach, he noted the success of free dental camps, which aided over 6,000 people last year.
